Been hearing clips of Newsom's new podcast. I've long said Newsom will run for president. I was saying this when he was the mayor of San Fransisco. He is like a modern day Bill Clinton. He is VERY gifted with the skills a politician needs. He's cool and calm. He's quick and sharp. His podcast isn't terrible and he's talking to people that disagree with him. He is also pissing off the more extreme members of his party by his pivots on many issues. He's even talking about men in women's sports.
Make no mistake. I think the dude is a snake and criminal. I hope he never gets any other political office. I just think MANY, most people on the right underestimate this man. Had the Biden crime family actually cared about their party they would have stepped down and let Newsom run. I think he would have defeated Trump.
I know that will piss many of you off but I do not believe the US changed because the Orange man won an election. Trump was shooting fish in a barrel in the last election. Two attempts were made on his life. Biden ran the US into the ground. Harris is a joke. Newsom is not. Newsom is not a radical. He will move to the center and that will appeal to lot of people. Fools, but they are what they are.
100%. Underestimate Newsom at your own risk.
That being said, him moving to the right in the hopes of a presidential run may be good for California. I'd rather a snake politician than a leftwing ideologue, which is what too much of California has been controlled by.

Indeed. I don't like Newsom but there are MUCH worse options. Like all "good" politicians he had no morals or positions. Its all about winning and he will throw anyone under the bus to get to the oval office.
Reminds me of the millions wasted on trying to recall him. Annoyed me at the time. He's not the problem. He's a symptom.

i'm fine if the governance stops pretending and shows that it has always been a dark united occultocracy, so that we can all finally have a peace of mind and move on without investigating multiple conspiracy theories.

Seems unlikely

He does seem smart... why did he preside over the downturn and complete destruction of the greatest state in the world? I guess he was just content to let woke politics overrule common sense.
Total snake not to be trusted. No one has done less with more.
Funny I had a chance to take a picture with him when he visited my hospital years ago after a shooting, I didn't know he was such a snake back then but I'm glad I turned it down. tbh i didn't want to be in a photo next to this tall good looking dude meanwhile all the lady docs in the office were going gaga about how handsome he was lol

Women really do seem to like the guy. I have a lady friend who doesn't know anything at all about politics, but she says likes Gavin Newsom because he's handsome 🙄

There is a significant number of people who simply vote for someone they like. It's one of the flaws in democracy that the sociopaths exploit to much success.

Also... you know you and I are gonna view things differently from the average voter. Newsom is actually popular with Democrats. He says the right things. That's really what matters to them. They connect the issues to capitalism after all. Not the government.

Is he popular? I would love to see the data. Even Commie California had a decent red swing during the election. Normies are fed up with the homeless, the waste and the crime.
I just can't get over him keeping outdoor dining closed for so long and then having a private party at French Laundry.

I think people like stackers apply logic. It's more of a vibe and instinct I have. The polls don't matter. Most governors are largely unknown before they become president. It's all about the rizz as the kids say. He's got it. Clinton had it and so did Obama.

Decided to do a grok deep search look into this:
Key Points
  • Research suggests Gavin Newsom remains popular in California, with 52% of adults approving his job performance as of February 2025.
  • His approval rating among likely voters is slightly higher at 55%, showing strong support from key voting groups.
  • However, his popularity has fluctuated, with lower ratings in 2023 and 2024, indicating ongoing debates about his leadership.
Based on the most recent data, Gavin Newsom is still popular in California, with 52% of adults and 55% of likely voters approving his job performance as of February 2025. This marks a recovery from lower ratings in 2023 and 2024, reflecting the dynamic nature of public opinion. The geographic and demographic variations, particularly strong support in urban areas and among Democrats, highlight the complex political landscape he navigates. While favorability data is less available, approval ratings indicate he maintains majority support, making him a significant figure in California politics as of early 2025.

Oh, it would be nice if we could blame one man for the problems created over the last 40 years. It's not that that would unfair. It's just dumb. I don't mean you are dumb but blaming Newsom alone is like blaming Biden for the issues of the US. Sure, they both have some blame but it's not like things were headed in a great direction and they did a 180. That's tempting but incredibly ignorant. The issues are far deeper and more ingrained in culture.
