Paid $400 for this used industrial sewing machine.

It’s heavy and it took a long time to set up, but it’s supposed to be great at thicker fabrics like denim and leather. It also looks like it should be durable enough to handle decades of use.

Got the bobbin and thread all set up this morning, I’m planning to make a lunch bag today.

I have one too, mine is from Mitsubishi and it can handle a lot of heavy stuff.

love it! is that the same company that makes cars?

reply

Yes, it is the same car manufacturer.

reply

You mean the company that makes fighter jets?

reply

Hell yeah! You’ll have so many fun projects with that.

reply

Hope so!

reply

Sounds like a fun project

reply

Yeah, excited to work with fabrics for a bit

reply

Nice. I broke quite a few needles sewing leather with a cheap machine.

reply

Nice, what kind of leatherwork were you doing?

reply

I was upholstering an ottoman that I made. I can't find a picture now, but I bought some discard/scrap leather off Ebay and had to cut it up and sew it back together into the right shape.

reply

It looks quite gooð

Pfaff, Singer or Kohler, nothing else matters...lol (My GrandMa said that once), jk, whatever rocks your boat. It is a nice and practical hobby. Have fun and show off your work.

Have fun and show off your work.

Will do!

reply

Finding one that works that can go through leather is a win!
Also, you will be able to patch up all of your demin levis now.
Just make sure that there isnt a lot of dust and oil caught up in all the gears and bearings!

Do I smell competition?..
