A lot of the border issues are messaging issues. Biden admin was signaling, we aren't gonna stop you. That was a lie. The laws on the books were being enforced but not to their full extent. Trump is basically saying we will enforce the laws. That signals the actual risk of coming.

I have many issues with the immigration system but there have been chances for it to be reformed by the dems and they didn't do it. Change the laws. It's really not fair to immigrants for the laws to be selectively enforced. That's the worse part of this. Instead of making Trump the issue those that say they care for the immigrants should focus on changing the laws. Not the President.

Thing is, they know that isn't popular. The US immigration laws are not even as strong as many similar counties. As usual people are arguing about the wrong things.
