Hello,
I am trying to make my phoenixd instance running on my start9 work with stacker news. I am able to attach successfully for sending, however I cannot get it to work for receiving. Is this because it is a .onion URL ? I keep getting the 'failed to fetch invoice' error after inputting the requested info.

if it works for sending, it should also work for receiving
but we might indeed not support .onion with phoenixd, will create a ticket

ill correct myself: i attached and got the green arrow for send, which was my indication it worked. I tried to actually send a few zaps and got this error:
25s [phoenixd] error payment failed: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.
So perhaps it does not work for both send and receive due to using a .onion URL

Ohh, you are right, we don't validate on send for phoenixd if what you've entered enables spending from your node. So as you noticed, it will fail when you zap if there's an issue.
We wanted to fix this a while ago but ran into some issues with test payments.
But we could at least check if we can reach your node.

sure, how do we test that ?

Oh, you don’t need to do anything, we’re just missing some code.

I suggest to connect that phoenixd to alby hub on the same machine. Then use the NWC string provided by alby with SN. Done, no need to worry anymore about the onion url
