This comes the day after Ukraine pummeled Russia with an enormous drone attack. I have a feeling that the US realized that it wasnt going to limit Ukraine in the ways that they were hoping for and so they have lifted it. Not to mention Trump has been getting more and more unhappy with how he limited stuff to Ukraine and Putin took advantage and kept pummeling them. Hell just yesterday the talk turned to now Russia doesnt have the cards either and I think thats actually accurate.
Even without the US Ukraine had the rest of Europe and Russia has China and North Korea to lean on. We have already seen China pull back significantly and there are only so many people/weapons that North Korea is going to be able to send to Russia before they will start freaking out that South Korea is way to strong now.
I am not sure Putin is willing to take this deal though even though it would be a huge advantage to him as he could redeploy troops from Kursk and other areas to the Donbas to try and solidify the gains there. With how Trump has been if Putin says no and keeps attacking I would not be surprised if he starts threatening to put the aid to Ukraine to force Putin's hand. This seems to be a policy that Trump is willing to die on along with Israel so Russia should be aware there.
