The total homeless population in the U.S. rose 32.5% from 2022 to 2024

The US Interagency Council on Homelessness attributes the current rise to inadequate systems for managing affordable housing, wages, and equitable access to health care and economic opportunity. According to the Council, people who experience homelessness have a life expectancy of 50, compared to 77 for the average American.

I bet most of the increase is in California and urban areas
I was reading on Twitter recently about someone visiting Denver after living there 10 years ago. Different city. Worse conditions. Squalor and homeless prevalent unlike before
