For what I hear in our local media and also from the international media, Canada is hailed as a country with much more freedom than many other democracies.
So, be assured it's still is far ahead than India or USA. 

I am not feeling like we should rank very high on the democracy scale this year.

I need to apologise @grayruby for arguing that Canada is a country under king's regime. I accept I was flawed by some bitter, untrue and uncouth remarks made by someone about my favourite and the most beautiful country in the world and that's unquestionably Canada. 

This index should open everyone's eyes because Canada scores much higher here than their neighbours. @Undisciplined should take note of it.
