Intel should have blown TSMC out of the water if they focused on their core business and not addicted to financial engineering like stock buy back and getting tax payer money for capital investment for these factories.
Is this really true though? I think it would be hard to compete with the lower labor costs and the immense depth of engineering human capital that Taiwan has.
I think Taiwan also has cheaper water, which i heard you need a lot of for semiconductor manufacturing.
But they still need to make a deal for Someone to buy their chips. I heard Apple approached intel to make chips for iPhone and intel said nah.
