The bigger issue with this pipeline is that there's almost no prospect of it making economic sense. Natural gas is just too cheap to ever pay off the investment.
The economic impacts and other normal issues aren't as big of a deal, because it can just run along the same path as the Alyeska pipeline.
I think it would make more sense to invest in an LNG facility and port on the Arctic coast and just make shipments in the summer.
