This is a leucistic alligator, a rare genetic variant caused by a recessive gene. This condition causes the alligator to have much lighter skin than usual, but unlike albinos, its eyes maintain their original color. Leucism only affects the pigmentation of the skin and other tissues, without causing changes in the eyes or vision, which results in a distinctive appearance, with a paler tone, but without the visual problems that characterize albino animals.
