I took a vitamin d test after my COVID infection and it came out as "insufficient" 😞

Was a bit disappointed by the result but it should be fixed now (...or very soon) with this 100k UI Vitamin D single dose

Hope your not over doing it

vitamin D trend isn't all blue skies. Some people are overdoing it with supplements. Researchers looking at national survey data gathered between 1999 and 2014 found a 2.8% uptick in the number of people taking potentially unsafe amounts of vitamin D β€” that is, more than 4,000 international units (IU) per day, according to a research letter published in the June 20 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). And during the same time period there was nearly an 18% increase in the number of people taking 1,000 IU or more of vitamin D daily, which is also beyond the dose of 600 to 800 IU recommended for most people.

Hope you get back on track soon

reply

I was taking 10,000 IU per day and my doctor told me to stop after blood tests showed the vitamin d level was too high.

reply

Do you remember your levels back then, if I may ask?

reply

10000 units per day.

I never got Covid.

reply

My vitamin d was off their "normal" range.

reply

How did you feel having so much? Anything noteworthy

reply

I felt good, especially during Covid. I didn't think you could overdose on it.

reply

Same. I actually never caught COVID during the pandemic, mayby because I used to "overdose" on vitamin d (?)

reply

Well that’s good!

reply

That's interesting, thanks. Bookmarked for later. I had read a book on the subject claiming that vitamin d overdose was almost impossible... I remember a period where I was taking 10k UI port day...

reply

if you've had covid, apart from getting your vitamin d back in range, get a D-dimer blood test, it will show if you have any abnormal levels of clotting happening.

if you do, you'll need to pick your favorite way of thinning blood and keep an eye on it.

we can't have any stackers randomly dropping from strokes!

reply

Thanks. This is valable information when I visit my GP soon. Thank you

reply

Wow! I've never seen a dosage that high. I'm excited to hear how you feel afterward.

reply

I think it will take some time until I start feeling the effects...

reply

You must have an iron stomach taking that much Vitamin D.

reply

It wasn't such a big deal, actually. It comes in a small ampoule and I had to dilute the liquid in a little bit of water...
