I think it's a cool idea, and the people that are interested in this are probably "our kind of people".
I still wouldn't buy any, though. Bitcoin is enough for me. And isn't the actual gold in them WAY less than the dollar denomination?

I would maybe get one as a novelty piece, or something for the kids, like hey, here's some cool-looking gold money
not sure about the gold to dollar denomination though, i think they use the spot gold peg so the value goes up and down
