I have not seen or heard what this bill might look like. Previously Chairman French Hill had introduced a discussion draft that I have linked here.
Last week before the Senate left town they also passed a different stablecoin bill out of the Senate Banking Committee. Given that the two bills are going to be different the House is moving, much like it did with the continuing resolution, to get their bill out of Committee, out of the House, and to the Senate before the Senate sends them the one they passed.
There is sure to be pushback especially from the Ranking Member Maxine Waters. She is a huge hater of anything that isnt a CBDC. However, there are several Democrats to watch on the Committee who have broken with her in the past to advance BTC and others legislation. Rep. Richie Torres of New York is by far the biggest name that I will bet votes to advance this legislation. The other Dem is Josh Gottheimer who has also previously broken with the Democratic party.
Since they (the Financial Services Committee) are still in negotiations with various parties for this legislation it might not be until April 1 that we see the bill text. Whenever it does come out though I will be sure to share it!
