I think there are a lot of researchers in private industry, perhaps more than in the state institutions like universities and *three-lettered agencies*. I also think that there is a big new paradigm coming that will make all of the state and many company researchers defunct due to impossibly incorrect theories. ***Somebody*** has been steering us wrong for more than 150 years!

That's not even remotely in doubt. Unfortunately, pretty much the entire science industry is closely tied to the state.
