If you mark a kicked ball no one can get you but if say you have the ball and are on the move and someone tackles you and you don’t get rid of the ball by kicking or handball you will be penalised for holding the ball. Another way the tackler can get penalised is if they tackle and make contact above the shoulders they get done for a high tackle which happens a lot sometimes the player will try and make a high contact to get a free and sometimes not
So, getting tackled is a turnover? That explains all the crazy scrums.

Not always sometimes it’s just a ball up if the balls not moving and it’s not holding the ball the umpires break up the play and do that ball up. So if you get tackled with the ball but did t have any time to get rid of it it’s a ball up called “no prior opportunity to get rid of it” so if you got the ball and was tackled immediately it’s usually a ball up not a free

Ok, but that's a 50-50 shot of losing possession? So, getting the ball out to a teammate is still really important.

Correct you don’t want to be the one left holding the ball haha . Get the ball and move it towards your goal and team mates as quickly and efficiently as possible or at least get a kick and mark so you can regroup
