My beloved Gerber Multiplier, my favorite multitool, is broken, and given the issues I'm having with their "lifetime" warranty site, I'm not optimistic about getting it repaired/replaced.
I haven't looked into the market in a while (though I do read plenty of. articles talking about cool -- but often impractical -- new tools), since I haven't had to. What are people's preferred multitools, and what makes them great? I'm not opposed to sticking with Gerber (I got a lot of use out of this one, so the warranty issues aren't a dealbreaker), but also don't have anything against Victorinox or Leatherman, and am almost certainly not aware of some of the other big players these days.
My needs are for versatility and portability (I want something that can go in my pocket or the smallest pouch on my backpack), but I know everyone has different needs, and I'd rather hear what everyone is using/likes, since I may hear a compelling reason to look at some tools I might not have otherwise considered.
