There was a time in my life when I tried getting into this book. I like that I didn't have to exert my effort to pause and consider a portion of its contents today, so thanks, good format for a post, I say.
In answer, I want to describe loneliness as it relates to what someone could read (what I would read) as warning signs of the collapse. It's not novel that loneliness exists, but what is unique about this moment is the deflection of the loneliness, or rather than loneliness, I could say the ever-growing void of "misfulfillment."
I point to cultural trends, for example, products built around habits that promise personal growth, obsession with efficiency, celebrated narcissism. These attempt to fill, fill, fill, constantly fill the nagging loneliness.
Would you then call it the Lonely Age, or the Age of Lonliness? Or the Misfulfilled Age? 1
If you did, I dare say, I might agree.
Thanks for the reflective response 🫶
