I guess they are trying to cashing in on human anxiety for negativity. The same things are repeated with a slight variation over and over.
Not necessarily. When the numbers are high, they still report them. They're just trying to give intuitive names to describe the sentiments they're asking about.
It looks like it was lower during Covid.
