Japan is turning cow dung into clean hydrogen, transforming what would otherwise be waste into an innovative energy solution. In Hokkaido, the Shikaoi Hydrogen Farm has perfected a process that breaks down livestock waste to generate biogas, which is then refined into pure hydrogen. With a daily output of 70 cubic meters, the system not only powers hydrogen-powered vehicles, but also helps reduce emissions of methane, a gas 25 times more harmful than CO2.
This innovation reinforces Japan’s commitment to carbon neutrality and represents an important step in converting agricultural waste into a clean, sustainable energy source. The project highlights the potential of technology to transform waste management into an environmentally friendly and economically viable solution, aligning with global efforts toward a more sustainable future.

I have heard of this done with chicken and pig poop, too.
Harvesting methane seems to be the next "green" energy.
