I was waiting to see when we would finally see this happen but the White House has finally pulled a nomination not due to anything the person had done but due to math. The House can only have two Republicans buck the party to move something along party lines and if we subtract a Republican from the equation it sets us up for issues.
New York Gov. Hochul would not have a reason to schedule a replacement vote ASAP and had leverage herself to make the Republicans in the House hurt. Now with this being addressed the focus for House Republicans pivots back to the two Florida races where Republicans are heavily favorite. These seats were formerly held by Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz. There has been chatter that Democrats feel they can flip either or both of these seats but considering not only who there Reps were but how far right these districts are it would be a wild upset to say the least.
I don't have much to say, but I love your analysis of DC inside baseball. Please keep posting!
Surprised that they think they can flip Waltz and Gaetz's seats though, isn't Florida solidly R now?

One of the seats is an R + 30 the other is an R +20 something... They are hoping to run purely off of people being tired of Trump's antics and with it not being a November election the turn out not being as high.
From what I remember reading the people running are moderates as well as opposed to any sort of progressive to try and get that vote.
