Do you let your kids win when you play them at sports? Like 1v1 basketball or whatever game?
I don’t but I’ll adjust how hard I go on them to suit the game in play .. until they are better then me which won’t be long and can’t wait for!
How about you?
Definitely not my teenage son but I have been known to let my daughter score an easy goal or two on me.
reply
Yes boys and girls have a different approach that’s for sure! Do you still have it over the teenager?
reply
Yes for now.
reply
I don't, but I also adjust how hard I'm playing.
I never won at sports as a kid and it never put a damper on my enjoyment.
reply
Surely not! Not much good comes easy

My son's coach is really tough... Her approach to the game is very friction-based... 🏀 When we played together, she used force.
reply
Definitely not making it easy then

I ask them: do you want to play me on easy, medium or hard mode? They mostly choose easy or medium, but sometimes I throw in a hard.
Kids are 3 and 6.

I might take a similar approach. If you win too easily they will likely want to give up.
reply
Can’t destroy them but you need to keep them engaged in the contest if I start winning too much I might give some advantages

At 6&7 sometimes yes and sometimes no. We were racing around the yard yesterday. I need to push it to win, lol

It can really be a case by case and depending on the mood as well hey !
