I think it's fake news that Musk is exiting DOGE...and it's just being thrown into the media so that retail will sell DOGE...then it will soar again, retail will buy it back in FOMO, and then it will be rekt again :)

Doge is dead. Fire up the printers. I appreciate the effort and cutting any waste and fraud is good but they were never going to make a real dent in the deficit without cutting entitlements.

I will be shocked if there is a net reduction in overall spending.
I'm hearing commercials about how they "may cut" medicad and social security. I've been hearing that nonsense my whole life. People are so gullible.

Trump never really cared about cuts. Maybe Elon did, but he would've been pretty alone within Trump world on that.
My original prediction was that DOGE wouldn't make much of an impact, they would claim some victory which is much inflated compared to reality, then move on. I stand by that prediction.

I think that's right. I do think some value came out of it to highlight to the masses how ridiculous government spending has gotten. Any level of additional distrust in politicians is a good thing in my book.

Yes, I agree with Michael Malice. The average man's view of politicians should be the way they view a tobacco executive.

Yep, at the very least they've moved the Overton Window. I've had some good conversations with some friends about why it's not actually crazy to cut the Dept. of Education

There definitely won't be if they don't get rates down. They have a lot of short term debt to roll over this year.

So Doge isnt ending. That will very much continue and its why the head of it wasnt Elon in the first place. Elon's job came with a legal limit of 130 days and given he will leave in a couple of weeks it will run right up to the 100 day area I would assume.
There is going to be cutting as the mass Federal layoffs are still in effect. I want to say its 4 Departments that have reopened the Fork in the Road early retirement program again for another week (till April 8). The biggest thing that needs to be done is buildings need to be sold it would lead to a huge cash infusion esp since there were layoffs and the occupancy was already low/flirting with the legal limit that would trigger closing the building.

Yeah there are some very dedicated people on the DOGE team, like big balls and literally the Airbnb cofounder

Can confirm he is leaving. He could only stay a maximum of 130 days in the post he has thats the legal limit. It is highly likely that yesterdays results also played a factor.

I'm surprised he has stayed this long. Honestly, with the grief he's gotten over it... there's no way I'd have done it if I were him.
