The timelapse of LNboard's first day is worth checking out. What started as an empty grid quickly transformed into a colorful mix of Bitcoin logos, Lightning bolts, and community art.
Unlike Reddit's r/place, which didn't happen this April Fools', this Bitcoin-powered canvas shows how a community creates when every pixel change costs actual sats. The most interesting part is seeing how spaces change hands throughout the day as users outbid each other using Lightning payments.
Some users coordinated to create larger images spanning multiple blocks, while others focused on claiming strategic spots near the center. The constant back-and-forth for prime real estate makes for an entertaining watch.
What sets this apart from other pixel experiments is how it connects to the broader ecosystem. Each transaction on the board sends a portion of the payment to OpenSats, supporting Bitcoin and Lightning development.
The first 24 hours are just the beginning. As more of the community discovers the board, it will continue to evolve - creating a visual record of Lightning Network transactions through collaborative digital art.

You neglected to mention the most important part. How much did you make?!

When you use this website, 10% of your payment goes to fees. This 10% is split evenly:
  • 5% keeps the website running and improving
  • 5% is donated to support Lightning and Bitcoin developers
The donation amount is shown at the bottom of the website. This number is exactly the same as what the website keeps for itself.
For example, if you see 10k sats has been donated, that means 10k sats has also been used for the website's maintenance and improvements.

Oh I didn't realize the 90% went back to the previous space owner. Cool mechanic! It gets expensive exponentially fast.

Thanks! Yes, price increases act as a deterrent to people overwriting your space.

So it is a pyramid scheme.

Tried earlier... to buy some sats to post on the board however.... It said payment route couldn't be found. Tried 2 different wallets too.
Is your infrastructure down by any chance?
