Out of curiosity one day I asked to my eldest uncle about what's the oldest thing we have in our village house? I was surprised to know that it is a very old, at least 200 years old, hand run stone 'chakki' (grinder). I have always seen that placed in a corner but never thought it could be so old.

We still use 80 year old sewing equipment from my grandfather, who was a taylor. My favorite is a giant pair of fabric scissors.
We display an alphabet embroidery done by my great grandmother when she was a school girl. It is dated 1881.

I've one more with brass handles. I mostly use that one.
So good to know about the other thing that's also so much old.
I think because in India the culture is still very rustic, we often come across so much of things fron the past. Until 2000 or so the house of my mom's father (Nana ji) was built of mud. It was however a splendid 3 storied house. People here still do ploughing with ox and a tool made of wood, not very prevalent but can be seen.

Sure I know. We also use it till date to measure things in villages when doing exchange of goods particularly. I also have some weights like 1 ser 2 ser.

I have a down sleeping bag for backpacking that's about 40 years old. It's still in decent shape (the nylon is getting a little bit...crinkly might be the right word), and I used it recently.

Don't know how old it is but it must be a few million years at least...although the area is volcanic so may be less?
It has strange markings on it which may be of human origin but not sure of its true story...it is shaped in a roughly adze/axe head shape.
I guess the mussels and Paua (abalone) at that beach have been harvested for many years before we found them!

Thanks for reminding. I too have my toddler clothes, more than 25 years old for sure, which were bought on my first birthday. My mother has kept them safe.

Probably the washer and dryer in my house. They both came with the house when I bought it, and the invoice for them is from 1993. I have much older things like books, coins, and collectibles but I don't really use them regularly.

I have a 40 year old fridge, it still works, I've had to get someone to make new hinges when the door fell off and replace the rubbers a few times, other than that its been pretty solid

Penis can't be measured in standard time, but in strokes per week, so it can age faster or slower than others! I'm so far in the future that my penis is now in a quantum state where it is stroked and also not stroked at the same time
