China had a $1 Trillion trade surplus last year and in terms of productive economy is leading the world. Culturally they are 92% Han and having been utterly humiliated by western imperialism from The Opium Wars onward have nevertheless successfully rejected western hegemony and are determined to develop free of the duplicity of western imperialist agendas. No other culture has had the depth of culture and scale to achieve this. 600 years ago Chinas economy and government were the most advanced on the planet. Yes there are cultural differences and levels of state control in China today that citizens of modern 'liberal democracies' look on with disdain, but those same liberal western democracies built their empires of wealth and advantage on slavery, military conquest, genocide (of indigenous peoples) and domination and control of the global trade, banking and trade protocols. The 'rights' wealth and privilege which westerners have, and Chinese often do not, were only gained once the west had already seized control of the bulk of the planets wealth. Wealth enables citizens to demand more and more 'rights' and to offer less and less in return to the state that is expected to provision them. And that is the problem with the west- its citizens have become overly entitled and demanding and lack appreciation for the crucial role the nation state and government play in the wealth of nations...and that wealth is often effectively a precursor to 'rights'.
