God did not write the Bible. People did. I see the whole universe being one process, including myself, evolving into the future. Everyone can influence this evolution, however small, for better or for worse. Not for some higher arbiter with some abstract definition of good, but for the better future life of ourselves. Because birth is constant and random, one cannot opt out from it and death is just a respawn. We need evil to see good, as we need black to see white. The question is about their balance.
