Man, the lengths @grayruby go through to not admit @Undisciplined was right... Shaking my head as I was typing this. Alright, I'll help a Canadian brother out and take all the credit as the ONLY ONE that told you the Warrior was good.
I'm glad you saw the true strength of the Warriors. They're fun to watch too, because Chef Curry had been cooking up a storm these past few games. And how about those Draymond defensive plays? DPOY anyone?
Edit: Did I jinx them? I just checked the Warriors vs Rockets game, and the chef only has 3 points. 1/10 FG, 1/8 from 3, Oh my...
reply
Jinxed. I am never listening to @Undisciplined again. I can't believe he said the Warriors were 5.

I saw some of the highlights of the Warriors vs Rockets game. Man, the Rockets were not only double teaming or guarding Steph; Rockets were hugging him and hand checking him. No calls from the refs, wild.
reply
For some reason, Steph doesn't get a friendly whistle. I don't understand why not.
reply
That’s interesting. Do you think it is because he plays mostly on the perimeter?
reply
My best guess is that it’s because he plays fairly clean. Guys like Brunson, Trae, and Harden get lots of calls from their constant flopping and flailing.

Conspiracy: the NBA doesn't want to dubs to win another championship!
Oh, and when it comes to getting calls, how can we forget the king of getting calls, SGA.
reply
Fair
One strange element to this is that Jimmy and Draymond both get lots of calls.

Summary

Episode Overview

The hosts kick off the episode with light-hearted introductions, confirming it's Episode 26 and addressing audio issues from the previous week. They joke about overcorrecting microphone levels and the challenges of editing, noting potential future improvements like separate audio tracks.

March Madness and Live Betting

A significant portion focuses on the NCAA March Madness tournament. The hosts discuss watching and live-betting games on Predicts, including the Houston vs. Duke matchup (which Duke dominated after a close first half) and earlier games like Auburn vs. Florida. They highlight the excitement of trading shares during live events and the fun of streaming games for free on Bet Play. They also analyze the tournament's lack of standout players, expressing mixed feelings about all No. 1 seeds advancing, which reduces underdog stories. Their ongoing points contest is a key topic, with standings updates—Gray leads, but rivals like Siggy and Toshi are close—and strategies for the final rounds.

Other Sports Discussions

  • NBA Playoffs: They debate the Western Conference's competitiveness, with teams like OKC, Denver, Lakers, Warriors, and Rockets as potential contenders. The play-in tournament is criticized as pointless this year due to mismatched teams, and they speculate on seeding impacts.
  • NHL: Ovechkin's tie with Gretzky's goal record is celebrated, with banter about team rivalries and MVP discussions.
  • NFL Draft: The hosts share hopes for their teams (e.g., Raiders at pick 6, potentially targeting defensive talents like Mason Graham or Will Johnson; 49ers focusing on trenches for offensive and defensive lines).
  • Fantasy Baseball and Cricket: They review their fantasy baseball league, with mixed results (e.g., Gray lost a round due to forgetting lineups), and praise ongoing cricket contests on Stacker News for building team knowledge.

Community and Personal Notes

The episode includes fun banter, such as family stories (e.g., Gray's daughter liking cricket), platform shoutouts (e.g., new users on Stacker News posting about track and field), and promotions like an upcoming AMA with Chris Liss. They encourage listeners to engage in the territory, follow on Fountain, and participate in contests.

Closing

The podcast wraps up with excitement for future events, including MLB survivor pools, NBA predictions, and more March Madness betting. The hosts sign off optimistically, inviting feedback and participation.

It was so funny that predyx shut the market down right when I was trying to sell and you are trying to buy. They are learning a lot from our degeneracy.
