Every player can be traded, any coach can be fired, at any given time. You can bring the team to a championship, you can continue to be a winning team, all these factors don't make you safe. Michael Malone got fired right before the playoffs and he will be replaced by David Adelman, the Nuggets' assistant coach since 2017. My gut feeling tells me this will not end well, but my gut had been wrong numerous times before. Let's see how this plays out. Time will tell.
Oh, and GM Calvin Booth was also fired.
Whoa, what the... I had no idea there were any issues between Denver and their coach
reply
There were reports online that GM Calvin Booth and coach Malone had issues with one another, especially after Booth gutted the team right after they won the chip by not keeping KCP, Reggie Jackson, and Bruce Brown. Firing Booth I understand, but firing Malone is wild. Apparently, ownership wants to clean house and start fresh... right before the playoffs... /smh

This is what this "pop business" is like... I don't feel sorry for them, their contracts always have high compensation for such cases...
reply
That timing is crazy!
I can certainly understand firing either of them in the offseason, but they had real playoff hopes.
reply
Yes, the timing is what is shocking. Malone is a good coach too.
Maybe the owners saw the first 2 episodes of Mind the Game and decided they want Nash as their new head coach, haha.
reply
What? What’s with these playoff teams getting rid of their coaches right before the playoffs. I hope this isn’t a new trend.
reply
I know man. First it was Jenkins, and now Malone. The winningest head coach in franchise history, Michael Malone. How about that? I hope no other team has ownership that stupid. Well, actually, there's always the Mavs when it comes to having stupid owners. Oh, speaking of the Mavs, Nico still has a job while Malone is fired. Wild times.
reply
That’s hilarious. NBA title winning coach. Winningest coach in franchise history and he is canned right before the playoffs but the guy who traded away a top 5 player in his prime for an old injury prone C still has a job.

So many people watch sports and see all the crazy stuff and bad decisions that happen, that don't make sense and are unfair.
Yet, somehow, the expect the government to be able to manage the country efficiently and fairly
reply
Really? I would think anyone who pays slight attention to what's going on in the world never expects anything from any government. Or if they do have expectations, they would expect the government to be inefficient, wasteful, and corrupt. At least that's my view on this matter and also the view of the people that I've spoken to about governments.
Yes, they are supposed to manage the country efficiently and fairly, but in reality, they always do the opposite, and many people know and expect that from them.
reply
Haha so true.
