You sir are wound up way way too tight. It’s clear as day you hate the direction this country is going and that’s your god given right however the mental gymnastics you are having to do to have your cake and eat it to must be killing you.
Our allies from Europe to Asia have leveraged American good faith and resources without proper payment for way to long. It wasn’t until Trumps first term that NATO countries started to actually fall into compliance with the military spending agreements. Even now with the exception of Poland, who reminds me a Texas, the countries have moaned and complained the entire time. Oh and the Philippines their President Marcos is huge on partnering with and paying their fair share with the US.
The rest of the soapbox you’re on isn’t something to address because you have cemented your feet into your way of thinking and are not looking at the large picture. Calling the US military machine obsolete when we had three flying 6 Gen fighters flinging while China struggles with one is wild. Russias doesn’t even deserve the 5th gen title due to the rivots down the side and the clear issue they have manufacturing with serial production having started 2 or 3 years ago now and a max belief of 20 jets might exist.
You cannot refute the points I have raised and so try attacking the messenger. That is not a reasoned contest of ideas but avoidance of one.
You then raise a new if related topic- the payment of tribute by US 'allies'. US 'allies' are required to buy US military equipment - a business which along with banking has been highly profitable for the US. Now 'allies' are wondering why the fuck would you continue under the command and supposed protection of a military empire that imposes irrational and unlawful punitive tariffs upon you, using lies as justification and threats to reinforce them.
An empire that seeks to trade off territory of Ukraine with war criminal Putin. Poland knows Putin will not stop at Ukraine. Europe knows. Trump knows. God knows! Taiwan knows if Ukraine falls China can and will breach international law in the same way.
Putin is not stopping even now as Trump begs him to stop. Trumps bluff of drastic sanctions on Putin/Russia if the war in Ukraine did not stop, have been called and Trump is shown to be a blustering naked emperor with no clothes and no ability to put further pressure on war criminal Putin as he marches toward Kiev and control of the Ukraine economy...on the route to Warsaw! Australian politicians are questioning whether they should proceed with the purchase of US designed and supplied nuclear submarines.
Germany, France and the rest of Europe are realising Trump is a dangerous unreliable overlord more inclined toward autocracy than democracy. They are going to rebuild their own military because Trumps USA is not trustworthy nor an ally. Trumps mafia protection racket tactics are misfiring. USA will lose Trillions in military hardware sales and end up a regional power limited to the Americas, if its lucky.
On the topic of US military obsolescence its not only high technology mostly vested in older style weaponry that wins wars. The Teleban rule Afghanistan still and the US left in failure, haste and shame even though the US still imposes hugely punitive sanctions upon them...one of the poorest most bullies nations on earth who first rejected USSR communists (yes the Stingers helped) and then US imperialists with pure determination, blood and grit! When did the US last win a war? The best and fasted old school military technology is rapidly becoming irrelevant as China has won the trade war and has the surplus capital and liquidity to both build up its conventional military strength as it is doing and to build post industrial asymmetric capacities in advance of the US. China winning the trade is not the end of US empire but it is the beginning of the end.
Yes I state a viewpoint, backed by reasoning, that you will not hear a lot in the halls of US power- one that you feel is unpleasant and unacceptable- but one that billions share. I would not welcome Chinese hegemony anymore than US imperialism. But recognise the trends and they are mostly in the direction of Chinas mercantile rise and US decline.
Freedom of speech, an important, arguably remaining strategic asset advantage of the US, is only of utility if it is exercised with honesty and good faith to raise, discuss and debate different viewpoints in a way that enables observers and participants to weigh their various relevant merits and flaws...rather than ad hominem attacks, avoidance and obfuscation of the issues.

I didn’t attack the messenger I literally was in meetings all day in guess where… Congress.
Your comments come across as a rant and the lack of cohesion and flow well that’s not my fault. It’s silly to think I’m going to spend all day talking to someone, going back and forth, when they won’t listen or accept anything. Just scrolling through your hatred of Trump as you call him names is beyond me. Even when President Biden was clearly not doing well at the end of his term I never stooped so low as you have so congrats?
This whole thing is just wild since Europe is signing contracts with guess who… oh that would be US companies to build production in Europe. Those aren’t lost sales.
Oh btw seems the tariffs… welp sorry they seem to have worked and in kind Trump pulled the ones where reciprocal tariffs were not imposed. Then doubled down on China which interestingly enough both sides agree with and the academics.
This is enough of my time spent with this because you are not here you are not involved in this stuff and are wherever you are spewing what you hear. I am I am here and welp 🤷🏼‍♂️ sorry to break it to you you are not right plain and simple

'I didn’t attack the messenger' You do not seem to read what you write.
'I literally was in meetings all day in guess where… Congress.' ie mired in US exceptionalist hype, not in the real world where most people observing Trumps tragic bullying charade live and view it from.
You have not refuted any of the points I have made, you are simply drunk on US exceptionalism and blind to the alternative viewpoints and demonstrably incapable of responding to them with a credible reasoned retort.
Trump is a blustering bully and has been forced to retreat from his global attack on free trade and the rule of law because USTs were about to get dumped and US insolvency would have followed. Trump is fighting a rearguard effort to salvage US wealth power and hegemony- it looks like hes losing.
US has lost the trade war and loss of financial-tertiary level-institutional hegemony will logically follow- the only question is when.
