There's a kind of mind and sub-mind duality with this stuff. All your clicks/engagement, sub-mind activities, tell these platforms you want a flying car (a fight video, a cat video, a thirty second mystery solved, a twenty second hero's journey, a non-sequitur bunda, a dunk, one after another). You, your mind, what you think of as you, isn't the customer anymore. In fact, they probably want you to not think. A fraction of yourself most hours of the day, you don't want to think either. You refuse to use products that require you ride a horse. Your subconscious, your hypnotic state, is the real customer.
