Person, is derived from the Greek word 'persona', meaning mask. I.e. person refers to the facade of someone, not his/her true spirit. That we don't discern this word as mask in today's society is troublesome, to say the least.
If we are not careful we could only be a mask interacting with other masks. Hence we feel hollow, as we confuse the persona for our true soul. Nothing is real and everything becomes inauthentic. That's a very scary world to live in.
Tangent. I heard somebody a couple of days ago say they were having a 'guilt-free morning'. I asked whether the rest of their day then was guilt-ridden. It probably was, bc why make the distinction. Then I asked why don't you have a guilt-free life? And then they said, "one day." Yes, let's suffer some more until we really deserve it. OMG!
