Construction experienced an overall estimated jobs gain of 13,000 in March, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' latest monthly report, but industry economists reacted with worry that tariffs announced April 2 by President Trump will stall industry employment growth in future months.
While first describing the latest monthly data as a "perfectly fine jobs report," Associated Builders and Contractors' economist Anirban Basu stated via press release that “March’s labor market data is a lesser concern in light of the sweeping tariffs announced on April 2.

My Thoughts 💭

Shocked to see this job print in the construction sector. Question is does it get better or worse from here on out. Trying to find economic signals in construction is so hard. You have so much conflicting data I’m not sure which way things are going and tariffs will not make this any better.
The more complicated something is, the harder it is for ordinary people (us) to understand it. And the goal is this...the fewer people understand it, the more people can be misled / manipulated / sold anything to them... Unfortunately, we live in such a "wild capitalist" world...
