Once upon a time, a NLS dyslexic boy was asked to make a Hari Raya card. He found spelling impossible, but his creativity was incredible. First, he folded the card to draw a tree. Then, he unfolded it to draw fireworks. His wonderful drawing became a priceless memory for his teacher. Through it all, he regained his confidence. The End.

I really identify with these posts, as my son suffers from dyslexia. What you see in the image is wonderful!
When you talk about a child in the NLS, what do you mean?

He has some difficulties and struggles to learn.
Now his focus is on sports. He's been playing basketball for a year now, and he's really good at it!

Spelling is a torture to dyslectics because they are highly associative and have a more natural language.

Everyone is good at something. The "task" of mentors / teachers is to find what each child is really good at and to "force" it, to develop it as best as possible.
Dyslexia is an ugly disease, but with enough self-confidence it can be overcome.
