Yes, I think thats the "mind worm" aspect of projects like Gridfinity. It provides a common format to create stackable organizers.
You print a "grid base" and then then anything else you print will automatically "stack" into that common base.
So, as you say, you print custom containers for exactly the space you need.
This probably pushed the needle for me in getting a 3D printer from "curious" to "a matter of time"

I will say this. They have went up in price recently due to the tariffs.

yeah, and I have no urgency yet to get one, so it's gonna be a wait for the right time thing
(also, my house has too much stuff already, I probably need to do a cleaning)
