pull down to refresh

We have playoff contests galore (#947140, #943657, #945970, #945376), which of course means we also have lots of playoff action to cover.
There are also several regular season contests going on (#947153, #946412, #945561, #943383), as well as the mish mash of events in the USA vs the world.
@BlokchainB posted some ideas for fixing the NBA and some of them seem promising. What really needs to be fixed?
@Coinsreporter has taken it upon himself to help us make smart decisions at Predyx. There are also some new exciting markets we want to talk about, plus just catch up on how our degeneracy is going.
The NFL Draft is this week. Stackers made their surprise picks. It's not too late to add yours to the mix. @grayruby also has some 49ers trade proposals for the Raiders number 6 pick. It'll be a tough sell.
The MLB is preposterously unbalanced. In @grayruby's words "The American League sucks".
Plus, whatever Stackers put in the comments.
Last, but not least, thank you to our listeners and supporters. As I write this, we're the #38 podcast on Fountain and Episode 27 is the #38 episode.

Now that all the playoff teams are set, which NBA playoff matchup(s) in the first round are you guys most excited about / looking forward to?
For me, I think I'm most excited about the Lakers vs TWolves matchup, because Luka owned the TWolves last playoffs, so there's some history/rivalry there. Also, I think Ant would want to prove a point that the league belongs to the new generation now. Last season he went at KD, this year he probably wants to challenge the King. Also, Luka magic had always been a joy to watch, and he had been playing very well with LeBron since the trade. I hope Ant shows up and also give us a good show.
I also want to bring up the Bucks vs Pacers matchup. Giannis was hurt last playoffs when the Bucks go eliminated by the Pacers, so this will probably be some sort of revenge series for Giannis and his Bucks. Should be a very fun series to watch.

Agreed on the TWolves and Lakers. Warriors and Rockets so we can finally see if the Rockets are as good as the record said they were. Nuggets and clippers should be good too. I think in the East Bucks vs Pacers will be the most interesting and fun series.

I’m pretty interested in Detroit vs NYK, too. That’s one of the upsets on my bracket.
reply
That could be a good series. I have Knicks in 6 on my bracket but I think the Pistons will give them fits.
reply
I probably expect the Knicks to win, but I figured most people would have them and it seemed worth the risk to get exposure to the Pistons.
reply
That was one series I considered picking the underdog.

I originally picked Detroit to win too in my bracket. Then I was listening to Thursday's Gil's Arena and got convinced by Gil that the Knicks will beat the Pistons. Basically, the argument was that there is no second star or high scoring player on the Pistons roster besides Cade to match the Knicks' double headed scoring from Brunson and KAT. Also, the Knicks are capable of playing grimy basketball to compete with the Pistons' "grind you down" style of play. I expect an extremely physical and very emotional series where Cade will shine very bright despite which team wins. It is another series to keep an eye on.
reply
My thinking was that Detroit’s physical bigs might bring out the worst in KAT and wear down the Knicks who have no depth.

Let's see how it goes down. Should be fun to watch. I'm hyped for the playoffs to finally start!
Do we need to talk about @Undisciplined wavering following of the cats and that gray ruby will be paying me 1K sats in a matter of weeks
reply
Yes. Great idea.

I definitely haven't been churning out sports facts, but I'm a firm beliver in quality. If I'm not feeling it, I don't want to just shit one out for the sake of it.

I was wondering why our listener count bumped up again after dipping for a few weeks. Seems like any time we crack the fountain list we get some more folks tuning in.

Also, what are you guys' thoughts on the Pistons restricting out of state ticket sales to prevent Knicks fans taking over their stadium on home games?
Personally, I'm loving that move. Just look what happened last season with the 76ers home games. Those Knicks fans mean business. Kudos to the Pistons organization for doing what it takes to keep the home court advantage.
