I think my personal record was like 13 hours or something ridiculous. I still remember the day quite well, back in my early 20s i had a day of no work or gym, and my then-live-in-gf was at her grandma's for the night, and I set myself up in the chair, and played 13 hours of online MW2.
i fucking loved that game!
What about you guys?

I use to play World of Warcraft and Aion back in the day. For WoW, I would play around 14-15 hours a day whenever an expansion dropped. Aion on the other hand was pure grind, would often play around 16 hours a day, possibly more. grinding the same elite area or dungeons.

Hell yeah brother. I remember at the WoW classic launch in 2019 I made it to Tarren Mill before sleeping. That's gotta be my record.
reply
that is kind of cozy feeling man to play that the game while in grandma's house. hope she is in doing great. yeah my favorite one was like ghost of tsushima i remeber i have played it for over 15 hours straight, it was hella of a time for sure in ps4 console when it first came out. god helped the joystics to not having any game drifts at that time.
reply
Ghosts of tsushima was phenomenal yes, right up there with witcher 3 and read dead 2
reply
i totally agree, it was also the same year i bought my console they were great times. unfortunaly i couldn't finished the rdr2 game story due to some travelling around. but im happy you have played these mastepeces man
reply
I played a lot of original WoW when it first released back in 2004. I would easily go on playing for 14+ hours non stop (only bathroom breaks and meal breaks) doing raids, instances, farming for materials, and/or reputation farming. I also spent a lot of time fishing in the game haha.
reply
reminds me of that classic south park episode lol
reply
I remember watching that episode. I'm telling you man, me and my friends and my guild went much harder than that, haha.
reply
Probably like 12-14 hours playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time when I was home sick from school.
reply
such a good way to spend a sick day lol i remember the xmas i got OOT after all the hype build up in the gaming mags at the time
reply
It’s def one of the greatest games ever made
reply
im ready to throw more money at nintendo if they ever decide to remaster, some guy even spent 8 years remaking it in Unreal Engine
reply
That’s insane.
I’m speechless.
That’s some LOW time preference.
reply
yeah, hopefully he doesnt get sued by nintendo as a reward for all his hard work!
I don’t know how long, but MW2 was also my record holder. I played an insane amount of time on that game
reply
a fellow prestige 10 club member?
reply
You know it. 10th 70, as they say
reply
nice, probably biased but i think mw2 had some of the coolest looking prestige badges of them all

Card Game (Tarot) for 10/12 hours in a raw in the evening...
reply
I can’t recall a specific moment but during my teen years I would game all day long on my SNES
reply
the snes had such a sick library of games as well, the rpgs are still enjoyable to this day

Probably I'm little bit older that u. But my record is unique. I've finished Monkey Island III without walkthrough in around 36 hr.
reply
one of my all-time favourites. it's impressive you managed it without a guide. i remember having to magnetize a needle and use it in the cork to make a compass. no way my young self would have got that wihtout a guide
reply
I remember that for Monkey Island 1 and 2, I played at night and then the next day I talked about it at school with my classmates and we supported each other with suggestions
But I wanted to finish the 3rd alone.
Now I have bought the whole series for my daughter and I am giving her some help (even if I remember very little), soon we will start the 4 which will be a novelty for me too.
After Monkey Island 4, I've ready The Days of tentacle to play with my daughter
reply
i heard of it, but actually haven't played day of the tenticle, i'll have to play it.
did you play Return to Monkey Island? the latest one? i really liked it, puzzles weren't too bad, some didnt like the art style, i didnt mind personally.
i also played the deponia series a few years back becuase it was on sale and it was great, i really enjoyed it, really good point and click
reply
I can't remember. I'm pretty sure I've done an all day gaming session at least once. I guess that'd be about 14 hours?
reply
probably a solid 12-14 yeah, accounting for a few food breaks
reply
I used to play EverQuest when I was younger, and world of warcraft in my 20's. I've had more 16 hour days than I care to remember or admit. I have no idea what my longest gaming session was, but I'm positive that I didn't have a healthy relationship with gaming.
reply
i think it's like anything , even a good book, when you find a game that really sucks you in and hits that dopamine receptor, it can become an issue lol
reply
I'm sure I've gone over 16 hours with Civ III. I used to hop on early and play clear through the night. If I had to guess, I'd say 20 hours is a reasonable upper bound.
reply
a legit all-nighter! i used to play a lot of rts back in the day, turn-based also a faourite
reply
there were some school holiday/weekend-type gaming sessions (World of Warcraft, love to yah, @gnilma!) that lasted for days... one one session, without sleep or going outside? Probs 10-15 hours something: wake up, eat, play-play-play)
reply
I mean, them Windseeker bindings, Eye of Sulfras, and additional mats don't just drop. I don't remember how many times we raided 40 men MC, but our guild (ran my my friends and myself) crafted 1 Thunderfury and 1 Hand of Sulfras should give you a ballpark idea. I also have a main rogue and an alt priest, which I ended up almost always raiding with the priest because we needed healers.
Original WoW was hard though, because it's hard to find 40 people online with everyone knowing what they were doing and what they need to do. By the time expansion hit, we had MC on farm, all the 20 men stuff on farm, but couldn't even clear BWL. Ended up never really raided AQ40 and Naxx.
reply
Yeah, truly. Raiding in original was hard af.
With TBC life got easier. I played feral druid when that was op, then boomkin in raiding when that was still underappreciated. (Everybody laughed at me for being boomkin until I beat the DPS of most mages and warlocks in my guild <3)
reply
I quit WoW when TBC got released, because it was taking over too much time and energy from my life. I eventually went back to WoW when Lich King got released but played much more casually. It got a lot more casual friendly by the time it got to Lich King expansion anyways. Also played all of Cataclysm, but eventually quit again when Pandaria was released.
Haha, we used to make fun of boomkins and their moonfire spams. I tried leveling a druid to 60, but never got past level 20. That bear form shit was hard to bear. I always end up quitting with the druid before getting cat form.
reply
Haha, we used to make fun of boomkins and their moonfire spams. yeah, this was the stereotype... but I took pride in playing the boomkin well -- profesh, even. Both in PvP and PvE

Good for you man. When played well, the boomkin is very powerful. We had one in our guild and he's always near the top of our DPS charts. But when not played well, also when under geared, they just turn into oomkin, haha.
the only expieriance i had of something like raiding was playing Destiny on the ps4 and i have to say, i fucking loved it. can totally see how somethign like that can drag on

I was really big into DOTA 2 back in the day, I would go to PC cafe's and play from morning till night, although 13 hours might have been a bit of a stretch.
reply
nice, the only time i saw gaming cafes were on news reports of Koreans playing starcraft.
reply
Probably 10-12 hours but not all at once. Play a few hours and then go do something else for an hour or two then play a few more etc.
reply
Probably when i was around 15 years old me and a friend would sometimes play Dota 2 from afternoon till the morning next day when the sun rises around 6am, so like 11-12 hours.
reply
