This film, based on the childhood of Salvadoran writer Oscar Torres, tells the heartbreaking story of a boy who lived through the tragic reality of El Salvador in the 1980s during the conflict between the army and the FMLN.

Living in a cardboard home, caring for your siblings amid gunfire while your mother works to feed you. Witnessing other children die from stray bullets during clashes, and later seeing your friends executed with a shot to the head—this was the daily life of this child, and countless others in El Salvador, during a war that, as one character says, "would never end."

Though the war technically ended, it is likely that many of the children who survived that era, like the protagonist Chava, still carry the trauma of that war within them.

Estar en el hogar de cartón cuidando a tus hermanos en medio de un tiroteo mientras tu madre tiene que trabajar para alimentarlos. Ver cómo otros niños mueren a causa de las balas en un enfrentamiento y en otro momento ver como asesinan a tus amigos con un tiro en la cabeza fueron parte de la vida de este y otros niños de Él Salvador en medio de una guerra que a decir de uno de los personajes " no terminaría nunca"

Aunque terminó en un sentido, es muy probable que aún muchos de los niños que lograron sobrevivir a ese tiempo, como el protagonista Chava, todavía estén viviendo esa guerra en su interior.
