I thought this was the Skyblivion project. Is it an official release?

Yeah this is from Bethesda themselves. They hired a studio to remaster the game, Virtous.

Oh, I do remember hearing something about that.

New games for what, right? These remasters stir up nostalgia, but they can backfire by not pleasing both nostalgic and new players. I don't think that's the case with Oblivion, which just needed to fix a few flaws lol.

I'm really looking forward to a recreation of the full Elder Scrolls saga, with lots of expansions to the originals based on later lore development.

Imagine remaking Daggerfall with that gigantic map and this time full of content.

That would basically be the map, right?
Didn't Daggerfall cover the entire continent and have a game area the size of England?

The map is gigantic with kilometers of explorable land, from what I understand. And it doesn't cover the entire continent, but it's still the largest in the franchise.

I recall reading that someone tried to estimate the extent by timing how long it took for their player to walk all the way across and it was roughly the size of England. Although, the true size is apparently debated.
It was Arena that I was thinking of as covering the whole continent.

Looks cool. When was the original released?

Oblivion was 2006 so almost 20 years for the remaster wow
also to put into perspective morrowind was 2003, skyrim was 2011, so we have been waiting for elder scrolls 6 for 14 years and counting...

Honestly, I don't need a new installment. There's a lot that can be done with remastered and modded versions of the existing games.

I don't remember. Mid aughts, though.

I played Morrowind back in the day. My wife likes Skyrim. I played it a bit but never really got into it. She doesn't really play it much anymore either.

I tried Morrowind, but after having played Oblivion, the gameplay wasn't quite good enough. They're also working on remastering that, which I really look forward to.
Skyrim's awesome. I have a huge modpack queued up that I just need the time to get into.

I might try the morrowind remaster when it comes out but it is hard for me to get into these games that take 200 hours to play.

I know. My biggest lifestyle wish is to somehow have the time for that, but it's a pipedream.

You and me both! I still have BG3 on my backlog. Might finish it in five years time. We'll see.

That'll be the "There will be signs" for us: just disappear for a while into our backlog of games.
