I had a go at hiding a treasure in my local park on questforsats.com
I thought I hid it in a pretty easy place. Somewhere where the cleaners wouldn't pick it up, somewhere that I thought kids would normally get up. I had a look and it's still there. Its been there for 3 or 4 weeks now.
Thinking of taking it back and doing a number around town but with some educational material inside. Also thinking about possibly advertising in a local paper but I'd prefer kids chasing after the sats.

Years ago I put a paper wallet in a geocache. Price went up, I got greedy and retrieved the cache for myself. Now I regret taking it because it could have been a great introduction to Bitcoin for someone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66f-Zg21f9k

So, you did end up finding the geocache!? Kind of left me on a cliffhanger with that video.
I must say that these kind of videos are so cool to look back on!

Ah my bad, here's part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjfcaVvEw68 Definitely cool to look back on, and I'm glad I documented it. Makes me think it's time to record some some more videos to talk about my bitcoin experiences today haha.

Nice! Had 0.04 BTC on it. You mentioned buying Christmas gifts with it which makes sense when the sats were moved. You posted the video in January 2014 for some buffer. Such a cool video man.

We’re so early, someone will find it eventually, but that will probably take a long time wherever you stash it.

That's the thing. It's not in a difficult hiding place. Lol
Do kids even climb trees these days?
reply
No. It’s really sad

Leave it mate longer it goes unclaimed the better! Maybe at some point check it’s still there but leave it

Looks like most people think I should leave it so that's what I'll do.
We go there all the time and I always have a little peek to see if its still there.

That's a great idea. Using E-Cash for that allows you to print the Qr-code with a link to instructions. @adam_coinos_io for example makes this easy.

On coinos?
reply
Correction; the option to print a QR code is not in Coinos. You would have to copy the string and paste into another app to print the QR code.
reply
Yes. You can "Mint" E-Cash, which can be printed.

Woop thanks for placing it! I think you should put some more down but I'm biased :D

I will!
But I want to add some educational material inside so that the chances it grows the bitcoin community in my area increases.
Also I think making a longer pin or increase the characters used would help it against getting brute forced.
