Found this on nostr. Adding it to SN one company that caught my eye was
Olipop — $2 billion: This popular probiotic soda company last raised a $137.9 million Series C at a $1.96 billion valuation. It was founded in 2018 and has raised $243 million to date with investors including Scoop Ventures and J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners.
I used to be a big fan of this alternative soda till I cut out drinks that had stevia in it. But shocked to see them reach unicorn status. I wonder if they are already profitable already.

They will never be profitable (publicly). This multi-million dollar figure is just a numbers game, and the goal is to "collect" as much money as possible. As a very good friend of mine used to say: "the point of such actions is to move money from the pockets of stupid people to the pockets of smart people legally"...a good example of this is JP Morgan
