I hope you are right :)
I really wish we would drop the "terrorist" label because it is never applied equally. What do I mean? The revolutionaries that fought the British used terrorist tactics as did the Native Americans. The US military uses these tactics as do Hamas and many other groups.
When I hear someone use the term I immediately know which side they are on. Not saying you are on the wrong side. I don't know is the point.

I kinda agree with you about the history but it's not how you can judge India because the Indian Freedom Movement was largely dominated by Non-violence. Thanks to Mahatma Gandhi.
In the context of my above statement, I'd like you you to know that those who killed 29 tourists were terrorists and no other label can be apt on them. They killed innocent people not to get freedom for/from anything. Before killing they asked to recite Kalma (Islamist prayer) and killed only Hindus.
Why only Hindus?
Because these terrorists just want to create unrest among Hindus and Muslims living in India.
India is a peaceful and diverse country with many people from different religions living together. India even has more muslim population than Pakistan has and all of that population unanimously condemned this act of killing 29 Hindu terrorists.

That's terrible!
I'm not talking about this conflict. I'm largely ignorant, just the invention and use of that word. It may be justified in this case? I don't know. That's the point. As soon as that word pops out I know the speakers side.

Yes as I said I kinda agree with you about the history, origin and broader implications of this word.
I cant agree when 9/11 or the recent attack is conducted. The Islamist radicalis or terrorists have not been doing it in India for obtaining any sort of freedom here.
Pakistan is a terror state and it was proved many times to the whole world. Why was Osama Bin Laden found in Pakistan? There are many others still living there. Pakistan even protects them on a state level and that's a harsh reality everyone knows.

How many times has USA meddled with and attacked other nations? Iran, Indonesia, Libya, Iraq, Chile, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Laos, Korea, Guatemala, Afghanistan and many many more. USA still uses unlawful drone attacks on 'enemy combatants' (the vast majority killed are civilian bystanders) in numerous countries where there is no declared state of war. It has done this for decades. How are the US 'extraordinary renditions' and subsequent torture and detentions not terrorism?- at the very least they breach international law. It could be argued that USA is a terrorist state and deserved 9/11.
