Let's be real this has gone out of hand now. Everywhere it's AI. Last year, Forbes reported that 57% of all web based text has been AI generated. Read: Is AI quietly killing itself – and the Internet?
This matters because roughly 57% of all web-based text has been AI-generated or translated through an AI algorithm, according to a separate study from a team of Amazon Web Services researchers published in June. If human-generated data on the internet is quickly being papered over with AI-generated content and the findings of Shumailov’s study are true, it’s possible that AI is killing itself—and the internet.
A year has passed, and things have gotten into videos now as well. On YouTube, people are using more AI generated videos and music ruthlessly. Most blogs and websites I used to visit now use AI to write. All that witty humor suddenly disappeared, and it feels so dank. Tbh, I like AI and if used responsibly, you can achieve so much. It's like a simple copilot for your life, but I highly disagree with replacing humans with them. This is just too early and stupid.
But anyway, this was my rant. Nowadays, when you search for something you land on a website that looks like it solved your problem until you realize it was just a clever way of SEO and AI generated content that provides a stupid, non working solution. Do you think somewhere, some dude angry with all this would be in his basement designing a search engine that will only fetch human created content? Would you pay for it? (I WOULD!)
