You can zap any amount. Check your default in settings, because it doesn't have to be 100.

Thanks this was really helpful and I have about 247 sats in my wallet so far I see zapping is 100 sats so if it rises a bit more I will

SN is designed to reward people for pro-social behavior. Here are the categories that earn sats:
- Zapping good posts
- Zapping good comments
- Making good posts
- Making good comments
- Referring others to Stacker News who do the above four things

As a new stacker, the easiest path is to read posts that interest you, zap them sats, and engage in the discussions in the comments.

If there's a market inefficiency in those categories, it's probably zapping good comments. So, getting into discussions is where I'd start. Ask genuine questions, leave thoughtful feedback, and zap everything that you got value from.
