They fouled with 10 seconds left and then Chet missed his FTs that gave Denver more than enough time to get down court and get a decent look for 3. If they had even waited a few more seconds to foul Denver has to take a rushed three.

For sure. It went as poorly for them as it could have, but even ex ante it was a really bad choice to foul at all, and a completely indefensible one to foul so early and so far from the hoop.

I yelled at the tv (and I was rooting for Denver). I don't care what else is going on, if I can keep Jokic off the court that's the option I'm taking.

Maybe a good lesson for OKC. It's the playoffs and you are playing a former championship team, you can't cruise to the finish.
