i wud like to see a combination of a shield, sun (behind the shield), and the family also. that wud symbolize a promise of a bright future and a shield. or maybe a shield with the sun behind it without the family?

I'd suggest something more in line with the very name of the project being SafeBits: Make it a vaulty-esque logo, something which communicates said "safety" in one glance.

How do you see something like this?

Gray maybe the most appropriate and simple, to avoid dark/light theme variations. It also gives a sense of metal, robustness, and safety. It also reminds me @grayruby, literally and visually!
