For me, I would have liked to see Reno trace his thesis more directly into modern times. Specifically, I don't think his thesis adequately accounts for the dominance of Christianity in American politics in the 70s and 80s... and it was only in the 90s and 00's that the role of Christianity has declined... though still being a major force to be reckoned with. I think his thesis may still be accurate, only that it's taken a long time to play out from Popper to today, and I would have liked to see him trace those roots more. It was interesting to see how Popper influenced George Soros, but what about other modern movements like New Atheism and Cultural Marxism?
Anyway, thanks for the review, I love seeing this kind of engagement on stacker.news.
