Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Baldur's Gate 2
Those are definitely my top 3, and I go back and forth about the order.

I haven't played any of these. I'm also a pretty vanilla gamer. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 looks rad.

Yeah you would've needed to be a PC gamer in the late 90s to have experienced these when they came out, so they're not as well known anymore. But for those that have played it, it's almost universally acclaimed as one of the best games of all time. It's the best selling game on GOG.com, a website for preserving and selling old games.

I remember playing the first two on MS-DOS at my friends house. I had never heard about the source code being lost.
