pull down to refresh

The Bureau of Labor Statistics' April jobs report, released May 2, showed somewhat surprising overall employment gains, with an increase of 177,000 jobs for the month. And thanks to specialty trade contractors, in particular, construction was among the industries adding workers last month, posting an overall gain of 11,000 positions.
Specialty trade contractors—including both residential and nonresidential firms—collectively showed an overall gain of 9,000 positions

My Thoughts 💭

Can’t tell if the sector is contracting or expanding. Another mixed signal for sure.
Love seeing this — as someone in HVAC & MEP subcontracting out of Austin, I can tell you firsthand: specialty trades are driving the grind right now. We’re the ones making the lights come on, the water run, and the air move — whether it’s for residential, commercial, or even data center and crypto mining infrastructure.
In the middle of running jobs, I’ve also been spinning up a Lightning node, learning staking, and prepping to launch a mining operation tied to my own electrical + cooling installs. There’s serious crossover between MEP and crypto infra — and it’s only going to grow.
We’re out here with tools in one hand and sats in the other. 🛠️⚡ Props to all the specialty contractors keeping things built and running.

Seems consistent with the idea that the sector was taking a little pause to get a feel for the new policy landscape.

There are mixed signals everywhere these days, not just in the construction industry. This creates economic/market uncertainty, which is never conducive to market growth. We have to wait a bit to see where the economy is headed... Let's hope so!

What’s up y’all — I’m @BurrowMiner based out of Austin, TX, where I run an HVAC & MEP general subcontracting business. Changing Name soon to TxHeratage Builders LLC Current Website https://sepulvedaandassociates.com/ We’ve been testing the ropes with our Lightning node, just getting started with staking, DeFi, and NFTs — learning as we go and seeing how deep this rabbit hole really goes. The long-term vision? Build out a crypto mining + hosting operation, backed by real-world electrical, cooling, and thermal experience. We’re starting small, stacking knowledge and sats — one block at a time. 🧠 Blue-collar Bitcoin, real infrastructure, and a mission to grow something solid. 💥 Want to support the burrow? 🔗 Amboss Node: https://amboss.space/node/03133fd75101d0a2540b03fa05a9a5cef1c2f97665b863250fca148db53329a60c 🌐 LightningNetwork+: https://lightningnetwork.plus/nodes/03133fd75101d0a2540b03fa05a9a5cef1c2f97665b863250fca148db53329a60c ⚡ Lightning Donations: hazeinsightful747011@getalby.com (Tor Node: 03133fd75101d0a2540b03fa05a9a5cef1c2f97665b863250fca148db53329a60c@ymhaa6qun73i52kik5hbpwfy25p4dwo2k7elrya2xbdowuw6m76ay7id.onion:9735) 📩 Contact: DatDaddyRabbit1@gmail.com Thanks for backing a real builder learning and working their way into the crypto space. 🛠️🐇⚡
