Yes, I meant v2. I didn't know P2Pool v1 was still going.

Note that technically P2Pool is already live: people are still running the first version of P2Pool, and very occasionally it finds blocks. This works because the Bitcoin protocol is backwards compatible: a soft fork doesn't prevent old miners from continuing to mine. 

What you're talking about is the new version.

My prediction: [P2Pool](https://blog.opdup.com/2025/02/04/rebooting-p2pool-for-bitcoin.html) or [BraidPool](https://github.com/braidpool/braidpool/blob/main/docs/overview.md) will win ... but we're a at least a year away from P2Pool going live and a few years away from BraidPool going live.
