A new Coke ad proudly features a quote from a J.G. Ballard book, only he didn’t write the words and it’s not his book.
Ballard's one of my favorite authors, and this caught my eye as a result. Another reason that I don't trust "AI" (here meaning generative AI LLMs, not actual AI used to parse data or do other things beyond generating "content").
That’s classic corporate AI blunder: slap a famous name on a quote, hope no one notices. But book lovers always notice. Maybe next time Coke should hire a librarian instead of a language model.
